As a traveling messenger and son of Pallas by a mortal woman, Belleros was well beloved in Calopius for myriad reasons. To young women, he was unparalleled in beauty, and astride his white winged horse Pegasus, he rode to the rescue of many a damsel, siring lines of heroes that continue to this day. To men and warriors, he channeled the divine power of his father to tend wounds, speak to and heal their livestock, and provided merry entertainment in wine houses and temple halls alike. He is said to have visited every city in the world, including the Barbarian Lands, mastering every tongue by careful practice. However, for all his charm and appeal, Belleros was never one for direct combat, preferring to flee to the skies when danger loomed or strike from afar with his sling. He once lent Pegasus to Aedikles for one of his Labors, and for his generosity, the gods created a mate for the winged steed, giving rise to the rare lineage of pegasi still present today. Eventually, Belleros flew directly to the heavens by means unknown, returning to visit his father’s halls and being granted a place among the other heroes.
