While denied one of the thirteen thrones of the Trisdekatheon, these gods assisted the High Thirteen in putting down the Primordials and establishing the rule of the new order. The most powerful of these is the younger brother of Xiphios and Thalattos, the lord of the underworld Thantadeus. As the one who bound Gaia, Thantadeus believed it was he who had earned the chief throne of the heavens. However, Xiphios believed he as firstborn was entitled to the seat, while Thalattos believed himself most fit to rule. As a result of Parthaenae’s game, Thantadeus was denied any throne and place among the Trisdekatheon, becoming the chief god of the Hupotheon or Lower Gods. These deities are largely concerned with specific domains of life or geography, and save the King Below, are largely content to support the current order.
