Gifted with the knowledge of the workings of the physical world, Thales is a champion of learning and scholarship all Calopius over. Master in equal parts of Physics, Medicine, Alchemy, Architecture, Rhetoric, and Philosophy, Thales set to describe the whole world in pure numbers, and pioneered the queen of the sciences, Mathematics. Each of these disciplines has an academy founded by the Master of Masters to instruct new generations in their rigor. Of all the Sophotheon, Thales is least concerned with worship and paying homage to the gods, with his city having only a few temples. Rather than a Healing House of Asklepios, the Academy of Medicine has a Traumerium. The only building dedicated to worship contains a monument to Xiphios, the Muse Urania, and Thales himself. On the archways leading beyond the city walls, the Fundamental Observation is written: “Space is the greatest thing, for it contains all things.”
It is said that the work of Thales burned so many candles and torches that the smoke stained all the stone in the region its current dark hue. In this, Dikethaleos finds justification for building all things from stone, making the Unburning City the safest place to be in the event of a wildfire. There are incredibly few priests of Thales, who dedicate themselves to studying the underlying nature of magic as the anomaly to reconcile in the grand equation. These priests tend to be hunched scholars adorned tending great libraries, bent with the weight of knowledge and in the green and crimson of the academy masters.
