Under Feet of Clay
With the darkest waters in all Calopius, the Winedark Sea is said to be stained by the spilled wine of Thalattos in his undersea palace. The sea is south of the Amphora Gulf and Cleobonomos, a calm stretch of brine between Pittacae and Chilones. Two large islands mark the halfway point between the landmasses, and Calopene fishermen have established small settlements here to farm and hunt the native mackerel and cod. Far to the south, when it meets the Sophiomachus Sea, the Winedark reaches to the horizon, though some whisper of hidden lands beyond with strange customs and undying kings.
